Crystal Grippin

Scientific Program Manager

Crystal began her career with the District in 2018. As a Biologist, she led the Invasive Aedes Program and was responsible for Community Outreach. She was promoted to Scientific Program Manager in 2020. As Scientific Program Manager, Crystal oversees the District’s vector and vector-borne disease surveillance programs, mosquitofish aquaculture program, insecticide resistance monitoring program, and research projects. Before joining Delta Vector Control District, Crystal was a Community Health Advisor with Peace Corps Benin where she provided technical support for a project that aimed to improve health outcomes in the areas of malaria, pneumonia, malnutrition, and diarrheal diseases. 

She holds a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Davis and a M.S. in Public Health with a concentration in Parasitology from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Crystal is certified by the California Department of Public Health as a Vector Control Technician in Categories A through D.

When not working, Crystal enjoys traveling, taking dance classes, and practicing Spanish and Mandarin.
